IATF 16949 is an international standard for a quality management system specialized in the automotive industry.
It establishes, based on the ISO 9001, the rules and regulations related not only to the specific requirements in the automotive industry, but also to the customer specific requirements, in order to aim at "defect prevention", "reduction of the variation and waste in the supply chain" and "continuous improvement".
